SIR compression molding process
Solid silicone compression process is one of the most common manufacturing processes in the silicone rubber industry.
It is mainly relied on tooling cavities, the tooling temperature, tooling pressure and curing time, which are set in hot compression machine, to make the silicone vulcanized and become a firmed shape product finally.
Its main production process is:
Rubber mixing→cut sheet material into strip→weigh material→placing the material onto the mould→molding →QC→After-molding process.
Its advantages are:
1. Wide range of molding temperature, according to the different vulcanization system, such as platinum vulcanization system or Organic Peroxide vulcanization system, its molding temperature could range from 110℃ to 200℃.
2. Easier to setup the tooling for production, no need to clean the material tunnel, especially suitable for small quantities of products that require frequent mould switch.
3. Compression molding is more economic compared with other rubber moulding process.
